A little good goes a long way!

I just looked outside a little bit ago and noticed that some sweet neighbor or, who knows, maybe even the garbage man himself put my garbage can out for me. No one would have known that I was up half the night with the flu and a baby. It just made me think how important it is for each of us to do a little good here and there whenever possible to make the world a better place! I'm so thankful for wonderful family, friends and neighbors!!!

Oh, and I have to apoligize for the pitty party post last night. I'm feeling much better now and my heart goes out to a couple of our friends who are dealing with their little boys' suffering. A two year old boy in our neighborhood (I visit teach his mom) just had his 3rd heart surgery. He is doing good, but it is still a long recovery and you just never know how things will turn out. Then, we just found out that some other friends of ours whose little boy has been having seizures the last couple years has some other serious issues as well. I really mean that my heart goes out to them because I remember watching Drew after his cleft palate surgery at 6months of age and it was the hardest thing to watch my child suffer! I am so thankful I had a wonderful husband by my side and a loving Father in Heaven to comfort me. Our prayers are with you sweet boys and your families! I would include their names, but I haven't asked permission. I'm sure your prayers will work wonders anyway!!!

I'll take that Flu shot!

So, I hate needles and the only thing worse than getting a shot is having to pay good money for one! (Unless you get a baby when it is all said and done.) But, next year I think I might be up for the flu shot after two years of my whole family getting sick. It definitely makes me appreciate good health and I have a whole new respect for my friends who have suffered through cancer treatments and migrane headaches day in and day out while trying to raise little ones!

It has also given me a couple of hours to sit in front of the computer bundled up w/ layers and blankets and a garbage can (for the unspeakable) close by to try to figure out how in the world to get the slide show I created on photobucket.com onto my blog!!! If you are like me, you'll spend several hours trying to get something finished rather than just consider the first 10 minutes of your time wasted :) I don't even feel guilty about the uneaten homemade chicken noodle soup and dirty dishes on the table and in the sink (not to mention the state of the rest of the house today)! I thought I'd whip up some good soup to make us all feel better, but the kids didn't like it. Oh well, I guess I'll stock up on Campbells!!! I did like the last recipe I tried better. Any good recipes out there for queeeezzy tummies?!?

Early Christmas and Reception in Moscow w/ the whole Walker Fam

After visiting Moses Lake, we headed over to celebrate an "early Christmas" with the Walker family and enjoyed spending time with G-ma and G-pa Walker, great G-pa Walker, great G-ma and G-pa Starkey, and Uncle Verne and Aunt Donna.  We got to see lots of the Walker clan as it was Darren and Cari's wedding reception.  We had a wonderful time!
